STUDENT TECHNOLOGY AND ELECTRONIC MAIL REQUIREMENT
UWF prepares students for current and future business and life applications using basic technology. Each UWF student is expected to:

• Activate a UWF ArgoNet account
• Access the ARGUS web portal 2-3 times a week
• Access UWF email account (ArgoMail) 2-3 times a week
• Have basic word-processing knowledge

Student use of UWF information technology resources is governed by the Computing Resources Usage Agreement and the Student Communications Policy. (See ?My ArgoNet? tab in ARGUS)

The University uses email for both formal and informal communication with students.

Each student, upon enrolling, is issued a UWF email account. Students are expected to regularly check their UWF email account (ArgoMail) for University business and official University communications. UWF accounts remain the property of the University of West Florida.

Students should expect that instructors may request assignments be completed on a computer and/or be turned in via email rather than printed. Instructors should ensure that basic assignments can be completed using software packages currently available in the ArgoNet labs or virtual lab ?eDesktop? environment.

The following technology indicators on a course indicate the extent of technology usage required, in addition to the above stated baseline requirement.

General Codes
	A Syllabus icon next to a course represents a link to a syllabus.
	An eLearning icon indicates that the course utilizes the eLearning course management system and accompanies a Computer Usage Code.

Computer Usage Codes
	100% of the course work requires use of the Internet or software available from an ArgoNet-enabled computer or equivalent. This course does not require any on-campus meetings.
	67% - 99% of the course work requires use of the Internet or software available from an ArgoNet-enabled computer or equivalent.
	34% - 66% of the course work requires use of the Internet or software available from an ArgoNet-enabled computer or equivalent.
	Up to 33% of the course work requires use of the Internet or software available from an ArgoNet-enabled computer or equivalent

Distance Learning Classroom Codes
	Instructor will NOT be in the classroom at this location.
	Instructor will be present in the classroom at this location.
	Instructor will split time between the two locations.

Other Technology Codes
	Access to special computer labs or classrooms is required to complete coursework.
	Specialized technology is required to complete this course. See the course syllabus for further details.
	Special software required. Software is either included with textbook, downloaded from Internet, available for checkout from the library or purchased.
