The focus in ICFE IV is to refine technical skills of teaching and to provide a vehicle for critical, reflective thinking regarding teacher behaviors. Designed as the field based component of ICFE IV. The experience is intended to integrate skills and concepts acquired throughout the program. Focus is on developing and implementing thematic based instruction together with developmentally appropriate approaches to reading and evaluation. Minimum of 100 hours in a Pre-K or Primary classroom setting; includes seminar, observation, planning, teaching and individual projects

Designed to provide a supervised clinical experience in reading assessment and tutoring. Students will conduct a thorough diagnostic screening and provide one-to-one tutoring for a struggling reader

An in-depth exploration of the major components related to reading instruction. Includes an action research project. Students will identify a classroom-based reading issue, review the related literature, design and implement an action plan, evaluate, and report the results
