Basic set theory, propositional calculus, predicate calculus, methods of mathematical proof. (Gordon Rule Course: Theoretical Math)

MHF 4404        History of Mathematics . . . . . 3(CALL DEPT)
Survey of the history of mathematics from ancient period through modern period. Emphasis is placed on the contributions of great mathematicians and important ideas of mathematics. 6 hours of mathematics beyond the calculus sequence is required prior to this course
