through discussion in class. Background information and differences of opinion
on the issues are presented in the text through the writings of individuals
knowledgeable on the various subjects. Although this is primarily a discussion
course, brief, relevant lectures emphasizing some of the basics of American
foreign policy and international politics will be woven into the discussions
