The "Bride of Tabasco" was conducted aboard the RVIB NATHANIEL B PALMER in October, 2002. This was a "ship of opportunity" cruise on which we sampled as the ship transitted northward taking hazardous waste from the Antarctic Peninsula research programs back to the US for disposal. The ship stopped for approximately one hour each morning (~ 0600 hr) allowing us to collect a quick set of samples before continuing northward.

all data are from CTD hydrocasts from bottles tripped at 5 m depth
cells/ml are bacterial DAPI direct counts
Bacterial Production: pmol Leu/L/hr is 3H-leucine incorporation by the Smith and Azam (1992) method
Bacterial Production: pmol TdR is 3H-thymidine incorporation by the Smith and Azam (1992) method
Chla was determined by fluorescence of 90% acetone extraction of GF/F filters
