MIS 1031 Introduction to Military Science . . . . . 1(F)
Provides an understanding of the Army's organization, customs and traditions including basic Army drill and ceremonies, and the Army's role in American society. Material and supply fee will be assessed.

MIS 1620C Military First Aid/Physical Fitness . . . . . 1(S)
Introductory course designed to familiarize the student with the basic concepts of injury care and prevention through the development of a personal physical readiness program and an understanding of the principles of first aid. Material and supply fee will be assessed.

MIS 2400C Fundamentals of Leadership . . . . . 2(F)
Basic leadership techniques and principles, senior-subordinate relationships, leadership problems, basic counseling and management techniques. Familiarization with the basic weapons/communications in a platoon. Material and supply fee will be assessed.

MIS 2631C Application of Military Skills . . . . . 2(S)
Basic map and aerial photography reading and land navigation; theory and dynamics of the military team in tactical situations; survival techniques in various environments. Material and supply will be assessed.

MIS 3410C Leadership and Management I . . . . . 3(F)
Relationships of individual differences and the leadership process on people; group dynamics; and the leader's behavior and societal impact are studied in depth. Tactical leadership and principles are reviewed at the platoon level. Permission is required. Material and supply fee will be assessed.

MIS 3611C Military Teaching Principles and Techniques . . . . . 3(S)
Techniques used to present efficient, practical and uniform classes and briefings. Permission is required. Material and supply fee will be assessed.

MIS 4107C American Military History . . . . . 3(CALL DEPT)
Wars of the United States from Colonial times to the present, with major emphasis on the more important conflicts, analyzing each as to its causes, conduct and consequences, with special reference to the principles of war. Geared to ROTC majors, also open to history majors and other interested upper-level students. Permission is required.

MIS 4420C Leadership and Management II . . . . . 3(S)
Junior-level duties relating to staff functions, company-level officer duties, and military law and justice. Permission is required. Material and supply fee will be assessed.

MIS 4501 Leadership Challenges and Goal-Setting . . . . . 3(F)
Prerequisite: MIS 3410C and MIS 3611C.
Students plan, conduct, and evaluate all supporting activities of an ROTC cadet organization; articulate goals, and design and implement programs to attain developed goals. Studies include an overview of the United States Army's management support systems including training, training management, and logistics; the organization of the military staff and its functions; an introduction to the Army's Training Management System and the leader's role as a trainer; the conduct of military briefings, meetings, training, and counseling. A two-hour leadership laboratory is required which includes practical experience in unit administration and operations. Permission is required. Material and supply fee will be assessed.
