Review of the basic principles of writing: grammar, usage, diction, syntax
and mechanics, emphasizing usage that is "incorrect,"
"wrong," "substandard," and "inappropriate."

LIN 3742 Modern Grammar and Usage . . . . . 3(S)
Grammar of modern English, including traditional; concentration on
structural, generative and transformational approaches. Intended for English
majors, required of those preparing for careers in secondary education. Material
