In-depth exposure to appropriate fabrication methods in three-dimensional materials including wood, metal, and stone. An intermediate course in image manipulation with emphasis on Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Sound Edit 16, and Apple iMovie. Designed for photographers, photo-illustrators, artists, and others who are interested in learning how to manipulate photographic and computer created images into finished art pieces or as material to integrate into multimedia projects in the future. Students will learn how to manipulate images and the viewer, how sound can manipulate the interpretation of an image, and how to manipulate still images into a moving image. The focus is on work by artists and independent producers who aim to produce poetic, penetrating, passionate alternatives to the ideas and images seen in modernist art, mainstream entertainment, advertising, and network news. An advanced class in computer-based media with emphasis on Adobe Image Ready, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Adobe GoLive. Students will explore how interactive modes of viewership affect artwork. Students will create web based art pieces, incorporating manipulated images, animations, sound, and video into a finished web site. Credit may not be earned in both ART 4680C and ART 4618C.

An intensive advanced class in multimedia, with emphasis on Macromedia Flash and Director. Students will create interactive websites, CD-ROMs, and DVDs, using skills from Photoshop, ImageReady, Dreamweaver, GoLive, SoundEdit 16 and iMovie, which will then be incorporated into Flash and Director. A very labor intensive course, designed for highly motivated, self-disciplined students. Credit may not be earned in both ART 4682C and ART 4619C.
