Theatrical producing in America. A practical examination of the responsibilities of the theatre staff, the commercial New York theatre, stock and resident theatre, college and community theatre. Includes the study of cost control, box office.

TPA 4XXX Design Studio I . . . . . 3(F,S,SS)
Studio design project activities in the area of costume, lighting, or scenic design. Provides the student designer with an opportunity for collaboration and realization of a design project. Prerequisite: TPA 2200, TPA 2000. Corequisite: TPA 3XXX (Lighting Design) or TPA 4060 or TPA 4045.

TPA 4XX1 Design Studio II . . . . . 3(F,S,SS)
Studio design project activities in the area of costume, lighting, or scenic design. Provides the student designer with an opportunity for collaboration and realization of a design project with an emphasis on Computer Aided Design. Prerequisite: TPA 4XXX (Design Studio I).

TPA 4XX2 Design Studio III . . . . . 3(F,S,SS)
Studio design project activities in the area of costume, lighting, or scenic design. Provides the student designer with an opportunity for collaboration and realization of a design project with an emphasis on research and portfolio presentation. Prerequisite: TPA 4XX1 (Design Studio II).

TPA 4045 Costume Design . . . . . 3(S)
Stage costume design and construction; survey of historical periods. Emphasis on color, line, form and materials. Permission of instructor is required. Prerequisite: TPA 2000.

TPA 4060 Scene Design . . . . . 3(S)
Practical and theoretical study of approaches to scene design for the theatre. Emphasis on developing an appropriate visual statement supporting the total production concept. Student projects and permission of instructor is required. Prerequisite: TPA 2000.

TPA 4077 Scene Painting . . . . . 2(F)
Practice in various techniques of scene painting. Consideration of pigments, color mixing, kinds of paints, paint equipment and its care. Material and supply fee will be assessed.
