PGY 2401C Photography as Art Form: Basic Camera . . . . . 3(F,S)
Basic theory and practice of black and white photography as an art form. Emphasis on understanding the technical aspects of the camera and exploring its potential as an artistic tool. The development of basic techniques and aesthetic concerns in relation to the photographic image. Includes basic darkroom experience. Invites all students. Material and supply fee will be assessed.

PGY 3XXXC Photographic Imaging as an Art Form . . . . . 3(F,S)
Theory and practice of black and white photography as an art form. Emphasis on understanding the technical aspects of the camera and exploring its potential as an artistic tool. The development of techniques, aesthetic concerns, and teaching methodology in relation to the photographic image. Includes darkroom lab experience. For art education students. Prerequisite: ART 2201C.

PGY 3420C Photo Art II . . . . . 3(CALL DEPT)
Development of advanced techniques and concerns in relation to the black and white photographic image. Emphasis on exploration as a means of creative artistic expression. Prerequisite: PGY 2401C or its equivalent.

PGY 3610C Photojournalism . . . . . 3(CALL DEPT)
Prepares students for basic newspaper and magazine assignments. Covers camera operation, darkroom procedure, technical quality of photos and approaches to news, features and sports photos.

PGY 4430C Creative Darkroom . . . . . 3(S)
In-depth exploration of the use of darkroom techniques, procedures, and manipulations as an artistic means to the development of advanced techniques and aesthetic concerns in relation to the altered photographic image. Material and supply fee will be assessed. Prerequisite: PGY 2401C or its equivalent.
