FIL 4300 Documentary Film & Television . . . . . 3(CALL DEPT)
Historical and sociological study of development of documentary film and television. Includes analysis of documentary film techniques and viewing of selected documentaries. Offered concurrently with FIL 5306; graduate students will be assigned additional work.

Evolution of film as a dynamic art form and medium of mass communication. Weekly film screening. Offered concurrently with FIL 5407C; graduate students will be assigned additional work.

Significant developments in world cinema from 1945 to present; emphasis on major postwar directors and new styles and forms. Weekly film screening. Offered concurrently with FIL 5408C; graduate students will be assigned additional work.

Study and practice of film technique. Planning, scripting, cinematography, editing. Production of a short film by each student. Limited enrollment. Offered concurrently with FIL 5705; graduate students will be assigned additional work. Permission of instructor is required.
