Practice in writing technical descriptions, proposals and reports. Designed

ENC 3250 Professional Writing . . . . . 3(F,S)
Professional writing course relevant in business, industry, government, and
other institutional settings; major elements of written organizational
communication with emphasis on composition of letters, memos, proposals, etc.

Prerequisite: Grade of "C" in both ENC 1101 and ENC 1102.

Practice in precise, descriptive, and accurate writing techniques for
practitioners in social work, psychology and other helping professions. (Gordon

ENC 3310 Advanced Writing . . . . . 3(F,S)
Achievement of precision and coherence in expository papers, with an emphasis
on the critical analysis of literature. Primarily for English majors and minors.

Prerequisite: ENC 1101/1102 or the equivalent.
ENC 3342 Magazine Editing and Production . . . . . 3(CALL DEPT)
Workshop in the principles and practice of editing poetry/fiction manuscripts
for publication in The Panhandler, a national literary magazine. Experience in
computer layout (desktop publishing). Students produce two issues of the
magazine.
ENC 3949 Cooperative Education . . . . . 2(CALL DEPT)
