The education minor is designed to provide the non-education major with the professional skills and knowledge supportive of job descriptions in vocations linked to education such as social services, juvenile justice, and recreation. The minor is conceived as a broad introduction to key elements in the core of contemporary education, excluding curriculum. The course of study does not provide certification to teach and education majors are not eligible to pursue the minor.
The education minor requires a minimum of 15 sh of coursework. At least 12 sh must be upper level courses and 9 semester hours must be completed at UWF. All courses must be completed with a grade of "C" or better. Students pursuing the minor must meet with an undergraduate advisor in Teacher Education Student Services prior to registering for courses.
