PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
In addition to general University requirements, students seeking the B.A. in
Art must meet the requirements listed below.
A grade of "C" or better must be earned in all
courses that are part of a major program. All course choices must have art
faculty advisor approval.
The Department of Art reserves the right to retain for the
University's collection any work produced by students as part of the
requirements for their degree programs.
Candidates for admission to UWF's NCATE/DOE approved
teacher education programs must meet admission requirements detailed under
Admission to Teacher Education. In addition to the program requirements noted
below, teacher education students must also complete requirements specified
under Teacher Education.
Requirements for teacher education programs may change due
to legislative mandates. Therefore, the actual program requirements may differ
from those listed in the catalog. Candidates must inquire with the Chair of the
Division of Teacher Education or with Teacher Education Student Services to
obtain the most current program requirements.
In addition to the Studio Art Program, an
Interdisciplinary Arts program is available for students who want to pursue a
broad background in the fine and performing arts. The program is primarily
offered on the OWCC Niceville campus, but may also be completed at the UWF
Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach campuses. Further information is available in
the Humanities Interdisciplinary section of this catalog.
Course descriptions are listed alphabetically by prefix in
the back of this catalog. For courses with a dash in the course number, contact
