The Department of Theatre offers the B.A. degree for students interested in
graduate study or for a career in the theatre. The Theatre program is committed
to the interrelationship of strong academic offerings and substantial training
in theatre production within a liberal arts context. All University students may
participate in University theatre productions and take courses in theatre
without being majors.
Students wishing to teach may major in theatre and receive teaching
certification in a related discipline (see requirements in the Teacher
Certification and Teacher Education sections of this Catalog).
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
In addition to general university requirements and General Studies requirements
found in the Catalog, all course work expected for the major must be
accomplished with a minimum grade of "C". Students seeking the B.A.
degree in Theatre are expected to participate in crew work on all regular season
productions as part of the major. They must also meet the following course
requirements.
Course descriptions are listed alphabetically by
prefix at Course Listings/Descriptions. For courses with a dash in the course number, please contact the
offering department.
