PSY 2039 General Honors Seminar . . . . . 1(1,0,0)
Intended as a supplement to enrollment in PSY 2013 for students in the Honors Program. It is intended to maximize understanding of the psychological concepts covered in PSY 2013 and to provide more depth and "hands-on" activities. Prerequisite: PSY 2013. Corequisite: PSY 2013.

PSY 2948 Service Learning Field Study I . . . . . 1-3(VARIABLE)
Placement in community agency or other social organizational setting related to field of study. Supervision by faculty and agency. Students and faculty "customize" courses to fit a full range of services that are available in the setting. Student must be able to draw correlation between the discipline and field study. Journal and reflective experience paper are required. With the agreement of the student's faculty sponsor, a minimum of 4-6 hours per week must be done at the field site per semester hour of credit. Permission of instructor is required.

Presentations and discussions of honors projects done as directed studies in preceding semesters. Admission to this program and course requires a minimum overall and major GPA of 3.3 and permission of instructor is required. Applications for the honors program are available from the department secretary.

Credit is earned by serving in an apprenticeship position under a faculty member and assisting with one or more research projects. Although the student may enroll in more than one supervised experience in research or teaching (see PSY 6940), a maximum of 3sh in supervised experiences will be applied toward the degree requirements.
