The Anthropology major prepares students for several graduate study opportunities and for a limited number of professional jobs related to the discipline. The program stresses hands-on experiences in two areas of specialization, Archaeology and Cultural Anthropology.

Students are encouraged to participate in faculty-directed research projects in the Pensacola area. Senior internships with regional and national employers and research institutes provide on-the-job training.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
In addition to general university requirements and General Studies requirements, students seeking the B.A. in Anthropology must meet the requirements listed below.

Common Prerequisites (6 sh)
State mandated common prerequisites must be completed prior to graduation, but are not required for admission to the program.

Recommend that the requirement be met with ANT 2000 and ANT 2511 (excess one hour may be used as elective).

Lower Division Electives (18 sh)
Sufficient 1000/2000 level electives to complete at least 60 semester hours in the lower division. Current UWF students may use elective courses at any level (1000-4999) to meet this elective requirement.
