The B.S. degree program in Vocational Studies offers training in Vocational Program Development and Vocational Teacher Education. The Program Development sequence is designed to prepare students to plan, supervise, conduct, and evaluate training programs in business, industry, and government. The Teacher Education sequence prepares students to work in vocational high schools. Completion of this program will result in a degree in Vocational Teacher Education. However, certification in vocational education in Florida is granted by local school districts. Documented minimum of 2 years of full time work experience is required.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
In addition to general University requirements and General Studies requirements, students must meet the requirements listed below.

Consult with your academic advisor for courses which may satisfy both the General Studies requirements and common prerequisites. A minimum course grade of "C" is required in courses required by the department.
Candidates for admission to UWF's NCATE/DOE approved teacher education programs must meet admission requirements detailed under Admission to Teacher Education. In addition to the program requirements noted below, teacher education students must also complete requirements specified under Teacher Education.

Vocational Teacher Education majors must include in the lower division requirements at least 9 sh of course work with international or diversity focus. Consult with your academic advisor for appropriate courses.
