PUR 2948 Service Learning Field Study I . . . . . 1-3(VARIABLE)
Placement in community agency or other social organizational setting related to field of study. Supervision by faculty and agency. Students and faculty "customize" courses to fit a full range of services that are available in the setting. Student must be able to draw correlation between the discipline and field study. Journal and reflective experience paper are required. With the agreement of the student's faculty sponsor, a minimum of 4-6 hours per week must be done at the field site per semester hour of credit.

Disseminating public information through mass media; public opinion analysis; research techniques; applications in business, government, education and politics.

PUR 3100 Writing for Public Relations . . . . . 3(3,0)
News and promotional writing, editing and publishing. Students learn to interview, gather news and write in journalistic style. Introduces desktop publishing computer system.

Examines the phenomenon of international public relations and identifies many of the methods employed and the problems encountered by those who engage in international public relations. Offered concurrently with PUR 5405; graduate students will be assigned additional work. Prerequisite: PUR 3000.

Capstone course for public relations and advertising majors. Emphasis on case study analysis and the management of integrated communication programs. Prerequisite: PUR 3000 or ADV 3000; senior status

PUR 4800 Integrated Communication-Research . . . . . 3(3,0)
Primary and secondary research methods useful to integrated public relations/advertising communication campaign. Prerequisite: STA 2023; ADV 3000 or PUR 3000

PUR 5405 International Public Relations . . . . . 3(3,0)
