agency. Students and faculty "customize" courses to fit a full range of services that are available in the setting. Student must
be able to draw correlation between the discipline and field study. Journal and reflective experience paper are required.
With the agreement of the student's faculty sponsor, a minimum of 4-6 hours per week must be done at the field site per
semester hour of credit.

Psychological overview of Buddhist theory and practice as they relate to everyday living, clinical practice and personal and
transpersonal growth. Drawing from Theravada, Mahayana, Tantra and Zen, topics include four noble truths, suffering,
dependent organization, sense of self, mindfulness, consciousness, spiritual practice, freedom, compassion and
enlightenment.
ISC 5518C Transpersonal Psychology . . . . . 3(2,1)
Human potential and personal-conscious growth, blending Eastern and Western psychologies. Topics include learning
consensus reality, states and levels of consciousness, meditation and mindfulness, happiness, attachments and transpersonal
counseling. Course requirements include keeping a journal, writing a comprehensive paper and practicing meditation.
Permission of instructor required for auditing.
