Placement in community agency or other social organizational setting related to field of study. Supervision by faculty and
agency. Students and faculty "customize" courses to fit a full range of services that are available in the setting. Student must
be able to draw correlation between the discipline and field study. Journal and reflective experience paper are required.
With the agreement of the student's faculty sponsor, a minimum of 4-6 hours per week must be done at the field site per
semester hour of credit.

will identify a problem, conduct a literature review and develop a method for studying the selected problem. Simulated
educational data, relevant to mental retardation, will be analyzed with the aid of a computer. The students will use the
results to answer questions relevant to mentally handicapped students.

Identification of a problem in the area of MH, review of pertinent literature and preparation of a proposal with all the
necessary information, conduction of research in a professional manner, evaluation and written report of the results.
Prerequisite: Permission of faculty and EMR 6705.
