Placement in community agency or other social organizational setting related to field of study. Supervision by faculty and
agency. Students and faculty "customize" courses to fit a full range of services that are available in the setting. Student must
be able to draw correlation between the discipline and field study. Journal and reflective experience paper are required.
With the agreement of the student's faculty sponsor, a minimum of 6-8 hours per week must be done at the field site per
semester hour of credit.

Introduction to computers and algorithms. Programming in a high level language. Topics include procedural abstraction,
data abstraction, and structured/object oriented programming techniques. The student will learn the fundamentals of
developing coherent, expressive programs. Prerequisite: COP XXXX (Programming in ADA, C, C++, Pascal, or equivalent
language); MAC 2233 (CIS majors) or MAC 2311 (CS, CE, EE majors).

Introduces the student to oral and written communication skills required for effective system development. Course content
includes exercises to aid in the understanding and documenting of user requirements, peer review sessions to better
understand collaborative work sessions, and CASE tools and CSCW (computer supported cooperative work) software to
develop skills in group-oriented project activities and report writing. Prerequisite: Any programming language.
