TPA 2948 Service Learning Field Study I . . . . . 1-3(Variable)
Placement in community agency or other social organizational setting related to field of study. Supervision by faculty and agency. Students and faculty "customize" courses to fit a full range of services that are available in the setting. Student must be able to draw correlation between the discipline and field study. Journal and reflective experience paper are required. With the agreement of the student's faculty sponsor, a minimum of 4-6 hours per week must be done at the field site per semester hour of credit.

Play analysis for visual elements and expression. Stylistic sources as springboards to the design idea. Development of visual concepts for productions.

Theoretical and practical approach to problems of lighting for the stage. Lighting instruments, intensity control, basic electrical safety. Application of lighting design principles and ideas to a variety of projects. Crew assignment as required.

Theatrical producing in America. A practical examination of the responsibilities of the theatre staff, the commercial New York theatre, stock and resident theatre, college and community theatre. Includes the study of cost control, box office.
