The Department of Theatre offers the B.A. degree for students interested in graduate study or for a career in the theatre. The Theatre program is committed to the interrelationship of strong academic offerings and substantial training in theatre production within a liberal arts context. All University students may participate in University theatre productions and take courses in theatre without being majors.

Students wishing to teach may major in theatre and receive teaching certification in a related discipline (see requirements in the Teacher Certification and Teacher Education sections of this Catalog).

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
In addition to general university requirements and General Studies requirements found in the Catalog, all course work required for the major must be accomplished with a minimum grade of "C". Students seeking the B.A. degree in Theatre are required to participate in crew work on all regular season productions as part of the major. They must also meet the following course requirements.

18 sh must be outside the major and approved by the academic advisor.

Sufficient 3000/4000 level electives to meet UWF's requirement of 48 semester hours in the upper division or completion of all departmental requirements at the 3000/4000 level, whichever is greater.

MINOR
The Minor in Theatre requires 17 sh of theatre courses, which must include 2 sh of Theatrical Production and Performance Laboratory, one acting course, and 12 sh of approved upper division theatre courses. All course work must be accomplished with a minimum grade of "C". The minor must be declared prior to the completion of two courses.
