Provides in-depth coverage of all aspects of business by presenting an integrated and balanced review of the external and internal forces that comprise business and economic systems. Intended primarily for freshmen/sophomores to assist the student's selection of a business career or business major.

GEB 3212 Writing For Business: Theory And Practice . . . . . 3(3,0)
Supersedes the basics of business writing while reviewing the various kinds of written business correspondence. Students are expected to integrate ethical decision making skills, word processing skills, grammar and writing skills, and analytical thinking skills into the content. Students must be able to determine solutions to problem based exercises. Team assignments may relate to students' discipline. Prerequisite: ENC 1101 and ENC 1102.

GEB 4361 Business in the International Environment . . . . . 3(3,0)
Introduces students to the complexities of conducting business on a global scale. Businesses typically develop in a domestic setting and then expand into international commerce. This course focuses on the necessary adaptations of business practices for success in global markets. Offered concurrently with GEB 5365; graduate students will be assigned additional work. Prerequisite: FIN 3403, MAN 3025, MAR 3023.

Relationship of business institution to values and institutions outside its own formal organization. Study of trend toward increased corporate social responsibilities and changes in the legal environment. Offered concurrently with GEB 5445; graduate students will be assigned additional work.

Develops expertise in the use of a set of tools to analyze the effect of economic, regulatory and tax policies (external environment) on the business environment and the conduct of business in domestic and international markets. Ethical implications of business response to these environments are also considered.

GEB 6XX1 MBA Portfolio . . . . . 0(2,1)
The purpose is to provide a vehicle for each student to develop an in-depth knowledge of a specific area of business. Students are expected to select an area of concentration such as international business, banking, health care, managerial consultation, etc. during their first semester of attendance within the MBA program at the university. Prior to taking this course students will have taken five (5) courses in which they will have written a paper relating the discipline of study with their area of specialization. These five papers will be reviewed and updated, if necessary. The student will be expected to develop an integrating paper of the portfolio which can be used as a springboard for their career. Prerequisite: FIN 6416, ISM 6XXX (Management of Information Systems and Technology), MAR 6815, ECP 6705, MAN 6511.

GEB 6215 Business Communications . . . . . 3(3,0)
Reflects the emergence of the need for all business leaders to possess communications skills. Gives business students a solid foundation in all forms of business communication for them to perform their jobs more competently.
