Family changes and conflict are examined. Methodology for working with families toward adjustment is presented. Emphasis is on the need for family intervention in substance abuse and addiction treatments. It is designed for students who anticipate working in human services, and it presupposes that either a basic helping methods course or appropriate experience has preceded it.
