MAC 1101 Principles of Algebra . . . . . 3(3,0)
In this course, emphasis is placed on the principles and techniques of elementary algebra including properties of numbers, linear and quadratic equations, inequalities, polynomials in one and two variables, graphs, rational algebraic expressions, systems of linear equations, functions, roots, and radicals. Credit toward Gordon Rule may not be earned in MAC 1101. Prerequisite: Appropriate score on placement test.
MAC 1103C College Algebra with Laboratory . . . . . 4(3,3)
A laboratory intensive college algebra course to cover topics including: exponents, radicals, complex numbers, polynomials, functions and graphs, exponential and logarithmic functions, systems of equations. Students may earn only 3 semester hours credit toward Gordon Rule for combinations of either MAC 1103C and MAC 1140 or MAC 1104 and MAC 1140. Prerequisite: Appropriate score on placement test or MAC 1101 or equivalent.
MAC 1104 College Algebra . . . . . 3(3,0)
Basic logic, polynomials, functions and relations, exponentials and logarithms, inverse functions, basic conic sections, binomial theorem, permutations, combinations, introduction to probability, simultaneous equations. Students may earn only 3 semester hours credit toward Gordon Rule for combinations of either MAC 1103C and MAC 1140 or MAC 1104 and MAC 1140. Prerequisite: Appropriate score on placement test or MAC 1101 or equivalent.
MAC 1113 Trigonometry . . . . . 2(2,0)
Trigonometric functions, triangle trigonometry, laws of sines and cosines, special formulas, trigonometric identities, complex numbers and polar representation. Prerequisite: College algebra or a strong high school algebra background.
MAC 1140 Precalculus Algebra . . . . . 3(3,0)
Functions, algebraic expressions, polynomials, graphs, systems of equations, exponents and logarithms, matrices and determinants, mathematical proof. Students may earn only 3 semester hours credit toward Gordon Rule for combinations of either MAC 1103C and MAC 1140 or MAC 1104 and MAC 1140. Prerequisite: Appropriate score on placement test or grade of ̉CÓ or better in MAC 1101.

Continuation of MAC 3311. Transcendental functions, methods of integration, further analytic geometry and applications. Prerequisite: MAC 3311.
